œHistory of Shibaura Kashiwa Junior/Senior High School

We will celebrate the eightieth anniversary of the foundation of Shibaura Institute of Technology in 2007. Kashiwa Senior High School was founded in 1980 and the Junior High School in 1999. The auditorium was built in 2001, which being used for multi-purposes: lessons, lectures, music events and so on.

œInternational Cultural Exchanges

In December, 2000, the Senior High School made a sister school agreement with Redeemer Lutheran College in Australia. We have several programs based on the agreement. One is a three-week summer home stay program in which our students can attend the classes at Redeemer . In the one-year exchange student program the student's credits acquired at Redeemer are admitted and s/he can graduate together with other students of the same year level. In the short stay program for Redeemer, held once in two years we accept students from Redeemer. The Junior High School has a good relationship with Putrajaya 1 Junior High School in Malaysia, which our third-year students visit every year. Students enjoy net meetings and also exchange emails before and after the trip.

œWorld Day

World Day is a kind of synthetic studies for junior high school students, whose three themes are "environment, internationalism, and information." Students are to find a problem to solve on their own and write a report about it. There will also be opportunities for appreciating music and art, attending a lecture from a university professor, joining a robot seminar and so on.
